I think that the Razer software needs a lot of work and updates.

My requests:

  1. Full offline installers for all Razer’s software.
  2. Option to use Razer software without having to ever log in to a Razer Cloud.
  3. Option to disable Auto-Updates in all Razer software.
  4. Option to disable log files created by Razer software.
  5. Option to delete log files created by Razer software.
  6. Greatly reduce the number of background processes created by Razer’s Software. To reduce CPU usage, RAM usage, Disk activity and even Network usage (See request 2).

If you have any ideas about improvements for Razer software, or Razer hardware, then post your requests here.

Did this topic help you find an answer to your question?

  1. Would be nice to have offline installer.
  2. It's possible to use it as a guest so no login needed
  3. It's possible to disable it
  4. Don't think that's possible. Probably every app nowadays have some log file, that is very helpful for any troubleshooting steps.
  5. You can manually delete it but it'll recreate
  6. With many processes - yes and no. If there would be one process and it would crash - whole app is dead. With many processes (for each module or even for each peripheral) if one fails the rest of them are still running properly, but on the other side it'll require more ram to satisfy each process.

And I'd add something from me:

  1. Public change log for each release, because in Synapse 4 it's non-existent.
  2. Ability to show battery level for each wireless device in tray.
  3. Scroll wheel “sensitivity” option as in older drivers.
  4. Ability to light up the assigned hypershift keys when clicking FN on the keyboard.

Hi FiszPL

Even a guest login is still connected. Network activity is still there, have a look in Task Scheduler, better still try Process XP. Process XP lets you see bytes sent and the number of sends.

Synapse 4 has no option to disable Auto-Updates. If there is I can’t find it, and I am not the only one.

A single log file for diagnostics and errors would be great. I’ve had hundreds of log files on my system, that a lot of diagnostics or errors! Some of the log files are massive with many thousands of entries.

I have log files for the likes of audio and haptics, I don’t even have any Razer audio or Razer haptic devices. These logs shouldn’t exist. I’m sure there is a lot more log files that shouldn’t exist.

The number of processes active (I have over 20 normally) is down to poor programming, and possibly a poor choice of programming language. Razer seems to use Electron with Javascript and an SQLite database. This is probably easier for a nice UI, but not so good behind the scenes.

If I open the Synapse window even more processes are created. If I close the Synapse window, the extra processes still remain, when they should close when the Synapse window closes.

FiszPL, great to see you posted some requests. I agree with your suggestions. If I could help I would, but the point of this thread is that Razer help out and fix the issues people are having.

Listing everyone’s requests and suggestions in one single thread might just make Razer take more notice, and hopefully follow up with the fixes.
