Need warranty support for Hanbo 240mm

I bought a new Hanbo 240mm less than 6 months ago and just got around finding a GPU and installing it in my new PC. The Hanbo has remained in its box sealed until Saturday morning when I started this new build.

 

The Hanbo never worked correctly. On one hand, when connected via the included USB-C cable to my motherboard, when I turned on the computer, the fans on the radiator ran at full speed and there was no RGB light on the fans or the CPU module.

My motherboard also wouldn’t let me boot into Windows complanining that the CPU temperature couldn’t be monitored and to avoid a problem, I should either turn the PC off OR go into the BIOS and ignore monitoring.

  • I tried with IGNORE, but neither Razer Synapse or the Razer Hanbo Firmware updater were able to detect the Hanbo.
  • Fans always ran at full speed
  • No RGB light

So I unplugged that USB-C cable and connected instead a USB-C cable from the CPU head module to a USB-C port on my motherboard. 

  • In this case, Razer Synapse AND the Hanbo Firmware updater were able to detect the Hanbo; my motherboard was able to detect CPU temp monitoring, so I restored the BIOS to alert me without issue.
  • Once in Windows, I updaded the firmware,
  • The fans now ran at speeds that sounded according to the settings I chose (Quiet, Performance, etc).
  • Razer Synapse was able to detect the Hanbo, BUT unable to get me temperature readings,
  • Razer Synapse allowed me to change RGB colors on the Hanbo

At this stage, I turned off the PC and installed the original USB-C to motherboard USB header cable, and went back to the original problems:

  • Fans run at full speed
  • Motherboard wouldn’t let me boot unless I turned CPU temperature monitoring off.
  • When turning off CPU temp monitoring, the firmware didn’t change any behavior at all. The fans still ran at full speed, there was no RGB light, Synapse didn’t detect the Hanbo

 

I uninstalled the Hanbo and installed a Thermaltake AIO 240mm cooler and had zero problems.

 

So then I went to Razer Support to try to file a warranty claim for my Hanbo but it says that my Hanbo is out of warranty. The box says it has a 2 Year Warranty.

I bought it on December 16, 2024 at Micro Center and can provide a receipt of proof. It was not Open Box or Refurbished, it was brand new.
