Viper V3 pro and hyperpolling dongle

I bought a refurbished Viper V3 Pro a few months back and it did come with the included Viper dongle. Just recently about a week ago i decided to purchase the hyperspeed dongle (double checked i bought the right one) and now im not getting them to pair, everything is up to date. Both show up in Razer Synapse. i did not however get a Razer branded cable with either of them but have tried a cable from a friend (non viper if that matters) and still not gotten it to pair.
