Hi community, I thought I had dealt with this issue a while ago, but I have noticed it once again. Here is a summary of the problem: There is a static/whining noise coming from my speakers when nothing is playing, or just after audio finishes. It's intermittent, but happens about 50% of the time. Steps I took to resolve the problem:
  • I bought the laptop in January of 2019. It was my third replacement due to a variety of issues ranging from dead pixels, display light leaking, or just not turning on.
  • After reading about the problem regarding speaker crackling, I updated my audio drivers to an older realtek release and disabled automatic windows updates to hardware drivers.
  • At this point, the problem went away.
Now, today, I notice that the problem is back. I don't use the onboard speakers often, so it's tough to say when the issue actually started to reoccur. Updating to the older realtek drivers didn't do anything this time around. Here are the steps I have taken this time:
  • Updated the BIOS to 1.06
  • Updated the EC firmware to 1.02
  • Updated the Realtek driver to 6.0.1.8625
  • Performed all Windows Updates
  • Performed all nvidia updates
The issue is still occurring. I am hesitant to open a ticket as I have no interest in sending the laptop in for repair. I require the device on a daily basis and can't go weeks without it. I have RMA'd Razer laptops in the past and the process is not quick.

Hi, I'm having the same issue on my stealth. Little anoying static noise from the speakers. I tried many things without success. I believe it must be a driver issue. I didn't have any issue when I bought the laptop (Dec 2019 still early 2019 version) What previous driver did you put or did you resolved your issue yet? 6.0.1.8625 (realtek)
