Kraken Kitty Edition disconnecting and connecting issue

Hello, I am having problems with my Razer Kraken Kitty headset. I got them from the official site around Christmas 2019, and they worked perfectly. In the last 2-3 weeks they have started to randomly connect and disconnect.
1. I thought there was a problem in the cable, but I tried to check it by slightly bending the cable and seeing if there is a weak spot somewhere, but no luck, so I ruled the faulty cable out.
2. I have tested all of the USB ports on my computer, it seems that they work better on USB 2.0, but not really a big difference. I have updated all of the ports, check them many times, they seem to be working normaly for everything else except the headset.
3. I have updated the synapse app, works better with the new update, and I have deinstalled the new version and installed the old one ( 2.0 ), it was terrible, they were disconnecting constantly, while on the 3.0. they disconnect about one time in 10-15 minutes
4. I have been playing with the sound drivers, maunally changing them, worked better but still does the same thing, especially when there is alot of sounds ( in game sounds, talking with alot of people, etc. )
5. I have tested them on another computer, still the same problem, works better with the new Synapse, terrible with the old one
They are disconnecting in Synapse and in Device Drivers. They are pluged in directly in the computers USB port, both when Synapse is disabled and enabled. My computer is running on Windows 10, regularly updated. I have send a case to Razer Support, but still waiting for the response ( I understand that the whole situation complicates the process and I have alot of time in my warrant since they are relatively new, so I am okay with waiting for the repsonse )
Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, i'm having the same issues with this. It gets annoying when it keeps disconnecting when i'm talking to people. Mine works better on USB 3.0. I doubt it's my USB port that's faulty as I've tried connecting it to other ports and connecting other devices to USB 3.0. Only my Kraken Kitty gets disconnected. Lmk if you find a solution to this. :(

clarecshthey asked me for some more information and videos to determine the problem, and it is probably some hardware issue in my Krakens, so they will replace them . Doesnt mean that we have the same problem, so contact them to give more informations, the support team was really helpful :D I hope this helps!

Hello, I have the same problem with my Razer Kraken Pro 7.1. I have tried contacting Razer but they seem to be always unavailable. The only response I get from them is that they assume I have corrected the problem but is not contact them on CHat. I tried that and the one time I got someone they never responded to any of my chats to them. They acted like I was not responding and the closed the chat. When I tried to open chat it now says no one is available call back when they are open. WTH They are suppose to be open now???

Ambergreatbicycle291Support was really helpful, they kept me updated on my case and they were very quick with sending a replacement unit. When I first send the support ticket it took about a week before a reply but after that they replied daily. It took about a month from the first ticket to receiving a new unit. So I am very pleased with the support team. ^^

Well you are very lucky I purchased my headset on June 6, 3018 and started troubleshooting this in March, 2020. After 2 months I opened a ticket to get a replacement on June 1, 2020. You would think that being a few days before the 2 year purchase date I would be covered by the warranty but they out of the blue back dated the warranty 4 days so I was OUT of warranty. I had nothing but praise for them but after this backstabbing event I am actively telling everyone how rotten and bad they are and I am deleting every nice thing I ever said about these crooks. I'll never buy anything from them ever again and will actively do all I can to convince others never to buy from them either.

firstOlivinetrend323Argh! exact same issue! Mine is super new too! I got it a few weeks ago, together with a Quartz Seiren and a base stand. I cannot use my Kraken at all. It is fine for 5 mins before it starts connecting. The only way I can use audio ingame is plugging in a 3.5mm earphones to my seiren and play games. I have submitted a ticket but they are taking a few days to reply each time. I am not sure if a replacement unit will work but please do, it is not a cheap product, cost a bomb and I cannot even use it to stream.

ChloeMotleyHi Chloe and everyone. I found the solution to my problem! Nothing to do with USB ports falling asleep as it is the only one that is disconnecting. I can’t believe Razer didn’t think of this- you would need to get a USB Power Hub to connect the device! Apparently the Kraken drains too much powder - so this hub will connect to your AC power supply as well as

<continue from previous- I dont know why it's saying I dont have permission to post> as your computer. I got mine around thirty bucks with 4 USB ports, 1 power AC, and 1 computer! I connected mine to the Base stand as well. I am pretty sure this solution might work for you! Had to scratch my head so hard and took me weeks of countless googling and YouTube to fix this while Razer couldn’t.

SwagskogI got a generic one. As long as the power source is the AC power and not drawing from your computer, it should work fine. I suggest you invest in a 1-2 port ones which are much cheaper than to get a giant hub. If it works, you can get a better hub, otherwise it would be a waste of $$ if it doesnt work but hey, it works as ports for my other devices as well so no issues there. =)

AaahriiiAs much as I'm impressed that you found a solution, I dont really want to spend a further 30 bucks to try and fix a headset that should be able to work on it's own, I'd rather get my money back from Razer aha!

Hi guys! I managed to fix my Razer Kraken Kitty edition headset by doing a system restore, rolling it back to before my Oculus software had been updated; isolating it as the culprit for my problem. Hope this helps!
