Razer Kraken TE - THX USB Audio Controller broken?

I bought the Kraken TE about 2 months ago and it was great. However recently my friends were saying that I had a 'robotic voice' on discord. I tried a few things including reinstalling synapse 3 (even going into reg edit), installing latest THX audio controller firmware. The problem seems to be the audio controller as when I plugged the headset into my phone and talked for a while there was no problem. Is this a software or a hardware problem and what should I do to fix it?
