Games consistently not launching on new Razer Blade

I've been trying to play several different games over the last month and I'm now starting to see a pattern. Old games, new games -- many of them consistently don't launch. I've had trouble with older games like Oblivion. I've had trouble launching new games like Red Dead Redemption. I've had trouble launching BG 3. This is just to name a few. I've had trouble launching Pillars of Eternity. I've had to abandon all of these games because I just couldn't get them to launch. I play for a day or three, and then the game just won't launch. I've updated Windows, my drivers, everything. I'm running Steam as Admin. I don't know what else to do. The games start to launch and then crash. This is true running games on Steam and on GOG. My old laptop (Alienware) had Win 10 and I had no trouble launching games. There's something going on here that I don't understand, some setting, perhaps, that I need to tweak. Can somebody help with this? It's devastating to buy a lovely new gaming laptop that won't run games.
