Razer Nari desktop audio capture extremely quiet

zoneSnowleet581

When I record audio on any software, the desktop/game audio is very quiet sounds watered down, while the microphone audio is perfectly clear. When I use Airpods, or just other headphones, the sound is perfect. I think it's got something to do with the chatmix feature. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi @zoneSnowleet581,

It sounds like the chatmix feature on your Razer Nari might be causing the issue. Chatmix balances game and chat audio, and if it’s not configured correctly, it can make desktop/game audio seem quiet. Here are a few steps you can try to fix this:

  1. Check Synapse Settings:

    • Open Razer Synapse and navigate to your Nari settings.
    • Look for the chatmix or mixer option and ensure it’s balanced correctly. If it's heavily weighted toward "Chat," the game audio might get suppressed.
  2. Set Default Audio Device:

    • Right-click the sound icon on your taskbar and go to "Sounds."
    • Under the "Playback" tab, ensure that the correct Razer Nari device is set as default (either Game or Chat depending on your preference).
  3. Adjust Windows Sound Levels:

    • Go to the "Volume Mixer" by right-clicking the sound icon on your taskbar.
    • Ensure all application sliders are turned up, especially for the games or software you’re recording.
  4. Disable Spatial Audio (if needed):

    • In the same "Sounds" window, select your Razer Nari device, click "Properties," and go to the "Spatial Sound" tab.
    • Try turning off spatial sound (Windows Sonic or THX Spatial Audio) and see if it improves the capture quality.
  5. Update or Reinstall Drivers:

    • Make sure your Razer Synapse software and audio drivers are up to date. You can also try reinstalling them if the issue persists.

Let me know if these steps help or if the issue continues!

I had to adjust the audio settings in both the Razer Synapse software and my system's sound settings to fix it. It’s frustrating when high-end gear like this has such problems. On a brighter note, once I sorted it out, I had a blast playing Moto X3M! The immersive sound really added to the thrill of the stunts and challenges.

Hi zoneSnowleet581! It sounds like the chatmix setting might be adjusting the balance between your game audio and mic. Try adjusting the chatmix slider in the Razer Synapse software to give more volume to the game audio. You can also check if any audio enhancements or filters are applied that might be affecting the desktop sound. Hope this helps! #NbiClearance
