Multiple versions of Synapse required?

I have a Mamba TE mouse and a Cyanosa Pro keyboard (not the chroma version). Synapse 3 does not recognize the keyboard. Synapse 2 does not recognize the mouse. I have to run two versions to control these peripherals? This seems like a fail.
