Struggling with wave effect

Hi there, I'm new to Razer Synapse and was wondering if anyone can help me with the Wave effect. I can't seem to get it to move side to side but instead, it just flashes on and off from colour to colour. I want to get the wave effect I see in videos of it moving side to side as an actual wave, but it doesn't seem to work for me or I don't know how to do it. Thanks if anyone can help me!
