BlackWidow 2014 double-typing (and Synapse issues)

Hello, I bought a Razer BlackWidow sometime 4 years ago and until recently everything worked fine. However, a month ago my keyboard started double typing characters. First I thought it was the switches since it's rather old now, but I find it hard to believe that 90% of switches just decided to malfunction at the exact same time which led me to believe it's some kind of a driver issue. And that's when I found out that Razer Synapse doesn't even show any of my devices (I have a Razer Abyssus as well). I can confirm it has worked well in the past because I remember adjusting those pulsating lights through it. I however can't confirm it has been on Windows 10, maybe it was 7 or 8. I have tried all the solutions I could find - deleting Synapse entirely, uninstalling HID devices, deleting every registry entry connected to Razer, different USB ports, running the app as admin, changing language and keyboard options... nothing worked. Only thing I managed to achieve is to get my mouse driver showing correctly in the device manager, but my BlackWidow driver shows under Mice and pointing devices (although it is shown as a keyboard under Devices and printers) and therefore uses the Windows self-installed HID keyboard driver. So in the end, I still have a keyboard that doubletypes constantly - which made me spend more than 20mins writing this post - and my macro keys are useless since I can't map them through Synapse.

Hello there! Have you tried to use it with another PC? Does it still do the same thing? Let me know how it goes.

Well it took me a few days but I finally managed to find another PC to try this with. It should be noted that this was performed on a Windows 7 in lack of a better option. I installed Synapse and as soon as I plugged in my devices it asked for an update (as it did on my original computer) but this time when the update finished - voila! Everything showed correctly allowing me to temper with all those fancy stuff (*as can be seen below). I still don't understand why my mouse and keyboard drivers in device manager are showed in both each others categories but hey - if it's stupid and it works, it's not stupid. What stayed the same, unfortunately, was the double-typing so I guess that confirms it to be a hardware issue and since my guarantee expired a few years ago I'll just have to save up for a new keyboard. I would like that new keyboard to be a Razer one as well, but I'm a bit - read that as 'a lot' - sceptical of it being recognized by Synapse on my Windows 10 and what is a fancy RGB 10+ macros keyboard without Synapse?

Thanks for the update. It should be recognized. You can do a repair or a reinstall of Synapse and see if it helps. If it still doesn't, please send me a PM with the build number of Windows 10 and Synapse 3. Let's continue there. make sure to include the link to this thread for reference.
