Doubling letters when connected to MAC

Hi, I have tried to connect my old Lycosa keyboard to my work MacPro. However, there's a strange behavior when typing certain words such as "and" or "from" which are automatically typed as anand & fform for some reason When typing using the built in Mac keyboard, it doesnt happen so this rules out any mac setting (autocorrects of some sorts). Any thoughts?
