Dead Pixel Fix Recommendations, Razer Phone 2?

I've honestly never been able to fix a stuck pixel with any app or picture in all honesty and I've personally never heard of one working either. I'd suggest taking the replacement even if you do manage to fix it as there's nothing stopping it from coming back.

Yeah, so far I've had no luck running different fixer videos for about 8 hours non-stop, I think Im just going to send it in. Got a better look at the screen and it appears that I have one cluster of dead pixels, another single dead pixel even closer to the edge, and possibly a stuck blue pixel nearby it. What bugs me most about the whole thing is Ive never gotten a dead pixel on a cheapo device, but Ive gotten one on all my "high end" devices. Sony PSP back when it was high end. Two Samsung tablets, and in the exact same spot after I went through the trouble of swapping them. My Samsung tv/monitor. Now, its my Razer 2 Phone, from a company that is boasting the device's screen as one of it's primary advantages. But, assuming Razer keeps up the good work, the last time I had an RMA for another product, it did get taken care of. Hopefully that holds true for the phone, and so far they've said they will replace it. Samsung and Sony were inclined to tell me "Because we put a legal disclaimer on a paper inside the box that you can't see until you open it and it can no longer return it, anything less than 5 inoperable pixels is considered normal operation and no replacement/repairs will be provided".

While Razer seems to be more than willing to arrange swapping my phone out, the only thing wrong with it seems to be a single stuck/dead pixel in the middle'ish right side of the screen. Stuck pixels can theoretically be fixed, however, and I'd rather try to correct it than risk getting a phone with some other dud component. Im wondering if anyone else has had a stuck pixel and managed to correct it, and what video and phone settings (or other method) you may have used in the process. For example, Ive run a couple pixel fixer videos for about an hour when not using it, at the default 90 Hrtz, with no luck so far. Would a particular video, and maybe refresh rate, be an optimal solution for the Razer Phone 2's screen?

I had a stuck pixel on my Oneplus One back in the day and I also figured that I could remedy the situation on my own. I tried everything under the sum to no avail. At the end of the day it was a fantastic phone but that one stuck pixel bothered me to no end for about two years. If you have a stuck pixel, initiate the RMA procedure as soon as practicable.

Yep, I started the RMA shortly after I made that last post. It's due to arrive on the 13th in fact. Here's hoping the replacement has a perfect screen and no other issues. I rather like the phone in this short time I've had it.

OK this is absurd, got the replacement today and it's got dead pixels like the first, just in a different location. In the short time I've had the machine I've really enjoyed using it. I like the style, the nice loud stereo speakers, and the fact this is one of very few phones that can be plugged into a generic type c adapter to give it an external monitor, keyboard, HDD. That said, the dead pixels cause me so much stress and irritation, I can't convey exactly how badly it stresses me out, but its enough to overshadow what I truly enjoy about the machine. Its even worse when you consider this is supposed to be a flagship 800 dollar phone (albeit on sale for 500, but that's still expensive in my book, not to mention some people HAVE paid that much for it). I've managed to get two dud screens in a row. Now I have to send a second back, this time for a full refund rather than a replacement because I can't stand the anxiety of waiting for the phone a third time to find it's also got dead pixels.

That's not good OP :slightly_sad: can you PM me your case number and RMA number and I'll get someone to look into this for you? I really want to get this sorted for you if you wish to give us another chance?

I'll have to get back to you on that in a few days once Amazon issues the refund, as I've already RMA'd via Amazon who agreed to refund it back to my bank card once they receive it. Once the money is back in my bank though, if Razer is willing to go through the trouble of charging some phones up (Do they still take a hit if they are powered on before an initial charge?) and doing a thorough screen check for me, I am interested. I hope it's okay to bump this with a new post since it's been a few days, and anyone watching the thread will get an update. I bought a new Razer 2 directly through Razer rather than Amazon. So far the device seems to be dead-pixel free, here's hoping none show up later. Have to get a new screen protector though, the spare from my pack got botched by some kind of defect which left loose plastic fibers to sperate from the plastic backing and swing into the sticky side >_< I can live with that until a new protector comes in though if the screen itself is fine.
