I think it's important to state that if you're going to own a mechanical keyboard, you have to accept that it's going to make noise. Regardless of the type of switches you get, you're still going to contend with the sound of solid hitting solid, echoed in a hollow chamber. With that, you can opt for "silent" switches - which don't make a clicky sound. You can also lubricate your switches, but I only recommend this with the right combination of lubricant and switches and only if you are confident in doing so and even then, they still make noise. If you're looking for a Razer keyboard with silent switches, you'd want something that comes with our yellow (linear) or orange (tactile) switches. I'm currently using a BlackWidow Lite (orange switches). They're still noisy enough to annoy my girlfriend. Right now the Huntsman TE is the new hotness. Opto-mechanical, linear switches that are super sensitive, lightning fast and really pretty to look at. Hope this helps!

Wish I could get the orange switches (tactile) on Huntsmen TE. Red switches do not have click or tactile, the noise comes from keys bottoming out, so it really depends on how hard you are hitting them.

Why not give the Huntsman Elite Red Switches. They're super super sensitive like a 50k dpi mouse, but once you get used to it, it's a very very good and fast keyboard. (Sometimes, so fast that the press gets actuated before you intended to, lol!)

Razer Orange, Yellow or Red Switches. Personally, I prefer Huntsman.
