Mic settings?

So, I recently got the Razer Kraken Gaming Headset 2019: Lightweight Aluminum Frame - Retractable Noise Cancelling Mic and I noticed it came with a splitter meant for two audio jacks. So, I don't know a lot about mics and stuff buuut, does this mean I can't use my headset? I can hear clearly but the mic itself isn't detected on my laptop. Whenever I think it is, it's just my built-in one that came with the laptop. I got another splitter meant for just one audio jack but nothing happened. I'm a smol kid and just wanna play games and I'm confuseddd. I honestly think I'm doing everything wrong, I first thought it was realtek being a butt but it wasn't. The only thing in sound that pops up is microphone and stereo mix. ;u;
