Razer Kraken Tournament Edition | Compete with Control

I had Razer Kraken 7.1's. Loved them. Decided to buy Razer Kraken Tournament Edition. They seemed to be an upgrade. I didn't like them at all. The sound was not as good as the 7.1's and the mic sounded awful. I could never get it to sound good. There is something wrong with the THX. I returned them and found a new pair of Razer Kraken 7.1 v2. These are amazing headsets. They sound much better, mic works great. Razer made a mistake discontinuing these IMO.

I just like the kraken because of the cute ears that go on it

So I just got my pair today and was having the same issues, reinstalled synapse about 3 times and figured out it was the update. I was playing around in the settings when I switched the default device from the razer kraken - game to the chat one and everything is working good now.

was it on razer snapse 2 or 3?

I really like the way these look - if only they came in Quartz Pink ... I'm not giving up my pink unless they break someday. lol

Wonder how long it will take to be supported by synapse 3

It seems to be supported on Synapse 3 just fine. Was there a feature you were looking for? I plugged mine in yesterday running through the USB pass through on my keyboard and after downloading everything, like Synapse normally does when you plug in a new device the first time, I was off to the races.

Inside Synapse 3 it only provides a picture of the headset and the USB controller with instructions on what the buttons do--that's it for the audio tab. So any sound characteristics (THX Spatial Audio, for example) you have to change from the USB controller itself--you can't do it from the audio tab in Synapse 3 like on my Nommo Pros.

how long is the cord for the amp soundcard it would have to be pretty long for it to work with me

You can find that here on the comparison page. But that combined with the 1.3m on the headset themselves gives you a total of 3.3m of cord. On my desk, it's a little too much.

IMO chroma in such a green device would not fit.

Ordered mine this morning and went for the black over the green. Wish there was a gunmetal for the TE--but no biggie. I'm still super excited to experience the spatial audio and the integrated cooling gel ear cups. This will be my first headset from Razer and it seems like the "best" for me in terms of feature set, build quality, etc. Was about to pull the trigger on the Kraken 7.1 V2s but choose these instead.

I'm a bit short on USB ports so I might have to swap my Ornata for the new Blackwidow Elite with USB pass through--but think my desk will starting to look silly with audio controls on the headset, keyboard, and the dial from the Nommo Pros. Look at all these ways I can change to the next track! :cool_:
