Recommendations From a Current Steelseries Headset

Quickly, my situation is that I use two computers, one my work from home office computer and one my gaming rig.  I had been using a Razer Nari headset for gaming, but switched it to a Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro.  However, I then started using my Razer Nari on my work PC.

Now, the Razer Nari’s sound is just definitively better, and I got it at a much better pricepoint.  The audio is crisper, the bass is clearer and louder, and I loved the mixes that were possible.  And Steelseries’ audio element was literally poking me in the ear until I used an aftermarket cushion replacement.

One might wonder why I don’t continue using the Nari for gaming, and there are two reasons.  One is that I have serious issues with Synapse (I discussed that on another post elsewhere), but one was a curiously excellent idea to use an external DAC that had a battery charger, and then equip the headset with a hot-swappable battery port.  As such, I use the headset until the battery gets low and, when it does, I take the charged battery out of the DAC, insert it into the headset, and seat the old battery in the DAC to charge.  Basically, the headset never needs to be plugged in.  Ever.  I can’t even begin to communicate how absolutely invaluable this is (also because the audio obviously routes to the DAC, not the headset, making messing with the audio easier since it is an ever present peripheral even when the headset is off).

Anyway, figured I’d point that out since I’m trying to make suggestions, I kind of wish that was a possibility.  I’m literally using a ‘worse’ headset for pretty much that one reason.  It’s something to really look into since it’s such an excellent feature, and I love the audio quality off the Nari so much.

I know your preference for the Razer Nari is understandable but considering your positive experience with the Nari, it might be worthwhile to explore potential alternatives to address the issues you've encountered with Synapse.

For me exploring different software options could help optimize your gaming experience without compromising on battery convenience or audio quality. The rest depends upon you bro.

I'm just posting as a suggestion to Razer, honestly.  There might be a whole series of reasons why not to have hot swap batteries for a gaming headset.  However, it's highly convenient.
