Barracuda X headset question / issues

So, I bought the barracuda X headset for its huge versatility amongst the new consoles (ps5, Xbox series X, switch, pc). I took it out of the box, plugged all the pertinent stuff up. Needless to say, life hit and I haven’t had much time to play games, but the other night I tried to play on Xbox. I plugged the headset in with the jack, and neither game audio nor chat audio was playing through the mic. I made sure the headset was on, and toggled the mute button on and off, still nothing. The system recognizes the headset and the in-game menu says my friends should be able to hear me, but nothing. Once I removed the cable from the controller my tv started making a high pitched whining noise, that would gradually increase in volume. My buddy muted her headset and the squealing stopped. Anybody have any suggestions for why I cannot hear the audio, or why the high pitched squealing might be happening?

I wish i can help you but, dont have the Barracuda X 😣 so i cant exactly replicate your issue T_T
