Is Synapse working on Linux? | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I'm about to make the jump to linux, but as a disabled user with left hand issues, the added buttons on the NAGA help immeasurably.

Is there a working or way to get Synapse working on Linux?

Heyho, there is!

Go check out: https://github.com/openrazer/openrazer

and its gui apps on top :)

There’s a couple of options to have custom keybinds on Linux;

  • Use a product with onboard memory profiles and make sure it’s configured before you switch to Linux.
  • Open windows in a virtual machine and configure your device in that, make sure your computer has good enough hardware to support virtualisation, and you might have to enable this in your BIOS settings.
  • Use a third party remapping program such as Auto Hotkey, there might be other programs that do similar things, but AutoHotkey allows you to write scripts to remap keys, make macros etc but this requires some programming experience.
  • Write your own .hwdb files to remap key functionality, this requires use of the terminal and can be quite complicated.

These are the options that I’m aware of, I’ve tried OpenRazer, as has been mentioned above, but it doesn’t allow you to rebind keys, it’s only for adjusting DPI settings and changing RGB light colours.

Until Razer adds official Linux support, remapping keys is a bit of a pain.
