Razer Blade 15 Advanced Laptop SD Card Storage Options

Looking to add more storage to my laptop as I'm quickly running out of space. I use my device for university work and gaming. I've had a look at some SD cards as possible storage options, just because it's easy to install and can be exchanged if need be, and found the SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDXC Memory Card 1TB. Would this be an okay option and would it be compatible with my device? Or are there any other recommendations to SD card options or just general storage options? Thank you! 🙂

It would work but it'd be a waste of money in a way. I'd personally just upgrade the internal nvme ssd that's inside. It'd be a lot cheaper than going with an SD card. Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about accidentally smacking the SD and breaking it since they hang out of the slot a few mm.

Hey! Thank you so much for the reply. I really appreciate it.

I thought of doing that, but I'm a little inexperienced with upgrading things and I wouldn't want to accidentally break something? That's why I thought, huh, I'm not too worried about just sliding the SD card in? And I haven't had a proper look at my motherboard yet, which I'll definitely get to eventually.

I've got a Samsung mzvlb1t0hblr-00a00 in my device at the moment and I'm not sure about what I should be looking at to upgrade from there? I'm definitely looking at over 1TB. 🙂

As @gstsdw mentioned it’s better upgrade the internal ssd if you’re running out of storage, SD card is simple and super easy to install but if you’ve advanced 2021 model there’s actually free ssd slot inside for storage expansion, all you need is t4 screw and maybe normal driver to open the ssd slot, it’s easily to find once you open the bottom lid. On Razer Book 13 which doesn’t have secondary ssd slot I use though cheap SanDisk sd card for storage expansion (mostly light games) even though I already upgraded internal ssd (book 13 you need to swap original ssd since as i mentioned it doesn’t have secondary slot ssd) to 2tb, never enough there days;)

Omg, thank you for the reply and assistance. I'm 99 percent sure that my device is the 2021 edition ( https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4089/~/at-a-glance%3A-razer-blade-15-advanced-%282021%29-%7C-rz09-0367x ) . I'll definitely try getting my hands on a t4 and crack her open! But yeah, I'm still very new to all this, as this is my first proper gaming laptop. :smile_:

I agree with you. I appreciate you sharing such great information. What do you think about Samsung SSDs? I couldn't seem to get good performance from my PC.
