What do you guys think about it?
I personally really dont like that its not 4K because nowadays its just standard with the new consoles coming out soon and all the strong graphics cards right now.
It would be the perfect monitor if it was 4K and would stay at the same price point.
I think it should come out this fall but if not maybe they work on it more and add the 4K display that would be pretty cool!

I think 1440 is still the way to go for now. 1080 looks bad and 4K might be a better option in a few years, but right now you need a $1700 monitor (4K, 144hz, because 60hz is just painful:smile_:, although hard to even get above 60FPS anyways...) and 2080 Super or above for 4K. It depends a ton on the game's people play but 1440 165hz is way cheaper and plays much better than 4K 60hz.
4k with VA panel i will say it's the dumb idea why becose on this kind of panel you want color reproduction and great quality in general of content you throw at monitor. 144hz panel with good VA is good why becose when you play viewing angle is not the priority you sit in front so you will not see color shift. Next thing is lower respond time then IPS panel that can have 3-5ms VA have 1ms with high refresh rate give you great edge over opponent

Actually, 1080p is still the standard for PC, not matter what people like to think. Even 720p still has more users than 1440p and 4k combined.
PCMR is a myth

Ya it's crazy. I think consoles confuse people into thinking 4k is normal too, even when 4k consoles can't do 4k, they just upscale to that. And consoles are usually at Low/Medium graphics compared to Ultra as standard for PC. It's all marketing.:eek_: The next next console generation can probably do 4K in about 5 years since PC's are able to now but it's pricey. 1080p is probably staying popular too since that's all you can get 240hz in, but the 1440p 240hz are coming this fall. You're right tho, the enthusiast is a small market compared to the rest, but they spend a lot:big_grin_:

1080p is popular because it's more affordable
1440p gaming cost twice as much as 1080p gaming (CPU, GPU, Monitor ...)
Most people who want 4k 240hz *NOW* most probably can't afford it (or don't want to spend the money for it), and manufacturers know that
is there any news when the monitor will be released?

I don’t care about gaming and wish it was 4K for design related work. Razer is the only brand with aesthetics I like that isn’t Apple and I won’t pay their bounty for their Pro display. Well, I might actually still undecided. If this was 4K it would be a no brained. Even if it cost more.
Monitor for fanboys lol. I like this monitor😅
What do they say about color accuracy?
Can’t watch any video at the moment but color is my main selling point on whether I buy 2 of these lol

I want to like it. I really do. The design is very clean and something I’d love to have on my desk. But $700? For a 1440p display? And no g-sync module? Now Razer has pulled a full Apple move. At that price it NEEDS G-sync. I know it is supported via free sync, but that doesn’t cost Razer anything. And there are much better monitors out there for cheaper. But of course they have that Gamer look. Maybe if it goes on sale down the road I’ll look into it. Then again my laptop has a 4K 120 hz display so probably not?
And blast it @Joikansai for always beating me to the review video post. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

It’s great and according PCmag it’s 100%
sRGB.
It also has HDR if memory serves correctly... somehow offers immersiveness gaming w/o being curved as well :eek_:
Agreed. Needs G-Sync at $700...and probably even more. It's a really, really big ask even for die hard Razer fans at that price point.
If you watch the whole review posted here earlier, it makes valid points on the fact that this is aimed at those who want Razer no matter the cost.
There are design flaws with the wires and other issues too.
Basically saying you can get a better monitor for half the price with better specs.

I really don't see a design flaw with the wiring. Just connect the wires before mounting them in the slots and you'll be golden. And I've tried to find "a better monitor for half the price with better specs", and I couldn't. One of the main selling points for me was PIP/PBP functionality - none of the other gaming monitors with the Raptor's specs had it that I could find. Considering the Raptor's feature set, I think the price is a bit high but still in line and I'm sure the price should come down in the coming months. I'd really like to see a 32" version though, but the 27" will hold me over for now.

Agreed, that video is junk. I think they're just anti-Razer. Are there cheaper 1440p 144hz monitors? Ya, of course. But if you want the best colors, features, and performance this is it. It's even in the Tom's Hardware best monitors. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gaming-monitors,4533.html

they are saying that if you try and adjust the monitor height etc after the cables are all in place - you cannot do this....
is this not the case?
they dont seem anti-razer at all
