Hey everyone,
I need to get this off my chest because it’s honestly breaking my heart as a long-time fan of the brand.
I love Razer hardware. I really do. In my opinion, there isn’t a single mouse on the market that comes close to the ergonomics of the Naga V2 Pro. It fits my hand like a glove. And the BlackShark V2 Pro (2023)? That microphone is in a league of its own. I want to use these products, I want to recommend them—but Razer is making it incredibly difficult for me.
I am a Linux user (running Bazzite). And before anyone says "Just use OpenRazer" or "Switch to another brand"—I’ve heard it all. The problem is that while OpenRazer is a godsend, it’s a community-driven workaround, not official support. Because Razer refuses to open up or provide native tools, I’m constantly hitting walls:
The Mouse Dock Experience: I use the Mouse Dock, but the most important feature—the visual battery indicator via RGB—simply doesn't work. I have no idea how much juice my mouse has left until it just dies on me mid-session.
The Headset: I can’t configure my BlackShark V2 Pro at all. I paid for premium features that I literally cannot access because the software is locked behind Windows.
What truly baffles me: Why is macOS still prioritized over Linux?
Look at the market right now. Thanks to the Steam Deck and gaming-focused distributions like Bazzite, Linux is more relevant to the gaming world than it has ever been. macOS users are great, but let’s be honest: How many of them are actually hardcore gamers using a Naga V2 Pro? The future of alternative gaming OS growth is happening on Linux, not Mac.
Razer, your motto is "For Gamers. By Gamers." But right now, you are ignoring a growing segment of dedicated, hardcore gamers. We invest hundreds of dollars into your ecosystem—mice, docks, headsets—only to be treated like second-class citizens when it comes to software.
Please, give us native Synapse support, or at the very least, officially collaborate with the OpenSource developers to ensure your hardware actually works as advertised on Linux. We want to be part of the "Cult of Razer," but you’re leaving us in the dark.
