The joystick continues to advance indefinitely

The buttons now have names that I chose. Sometimes, around once every 15 minutes, despite having released the buttons, I continue to move, even if I've completed the procedure. For example, if I press and release the joystick's front button (which I assigned to the letter w), my character continues to advance indefinitely until I hit the button again. The joystick's left and right buttons have the same issue. As far as I can tell, this hasn't happened to me with the back button. There is nothing I can do to repair this, but if you tell me how I would be grateful to you.
