Hey Razer Community,

I believe I'm not the first person bring out this topic. Any tips to repair/replace the mat surface for my Razer Firefly? It is starting to peel out precisely after six months which was out of warranty. The condition of the pad getting worst every single day and right now is damn disgusting. It is ruining my entire desktop setup.

I fully understand that the products, especially with clothing materials, will wear out upon the time of usage. However, it's doesn't' make sense to me keep investing in new Firefly once every six months.

Please don't suggest me to purchase a brand new one. The lighting of the device is working correctly. What I need are tips for repair.

My idea to repair it is to purchase an OEM mat and cut its shape into Firefly then paste into it. I so appreciate if any assistance could be provided.

Much Obligated Buddies!

I would recommend contacting Razer and making use of the warranty that's available to you. :smile_:

Get something like a QCK or a QCK+ depending on the size you might have to cut it and then just paste it onto the surface after you are done peeling off the old layer. Dont get mousepads with stitched edges cause those arent glued all the way in the middle and cutting them to size will destroy them. Also go for the slimmest cloth pad you can find, I would recommend the QCK but you might be able to find others. Ebay also might have just the thin cloth layer available for a lot of mousepads.

If you want to waste a brand new mousepad, you can buy a QCK. Heat it up alot and peel the top layer from the rubber base. Attach the top layer to your Firefly. But this has the risk of ruining a brand new mousepad.
Thank you for this post, this really helped me. All the time I've been thinking about buying a hard or soft edition (I have Razer mamba mouse). Hard is pretty loud, soft will be dirty and wear out of time..... So I think Firefly Hard is much better choice now for me 🙂
