What If Razer Made the Basilisk V4 Pro? A Vision of the Next Ergonomic Powerhouse

If Razer were to develop a Basilisk V4 Pro, it would likely take major cues from the DeathAdder V4 Pro, fusing high-end esports performance with the Basilisk’s signature ergonomic versatility. The mouse could weigh around 89g, using a restructured internal layout and lighter sustainable materials while keeping its signature shape.

Internally, it might feature Gen-4 Optical Switches, the Focus Pro 45K sensor, and Razer’s new optical scroll wheel—offering unmatched durability, tactility, and tracking accuracy. For wireless performance, it would likely adopt HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 and 8000 Hz HyperPolling, ensuring ultra-low latency and stability. Paired with a redesigned hemispherical dongle, signal strength and convenience would improve significantly.

Battery life could reach up to 150 hours, and a modular charging puck system might return for seamless dock support. RGB would be minimal, focusing only on the scroll wheel and logo, optimizing both aesthetics and power efficiency.

On the software side, full Synapse integration would provide advanced DPI tools like Smart Tracking, Motion Sync, and a Rotation Tool—giving competitive players granular control over sensitivity and lift-off. A Speed Edition variant could drop the RGB and dock support, cutting weight closer to 78g for FPS players.

Altogether, a Basilisk V4 Pro could represent Razer’s most refined ergonomic gaming mouse to date—lighter, faster, and smarter—built for tactical dominance without sacrificing comfort or customization.

I hope they make the thumb buttons more durable in version 4... the trigger button was much better in version 2. I bought three versions of version 3 in a year, and all three broke because of that button; it's truly awful. Then, after a little over a year, the other two also broke and came loose. The mouse itself is fantastic and lightweight for competitive gaming, but the thumb buttons are really terrible. I hope Razer improves their quality in version 4.

And lighter, about 70 grams would be nice, 112 grams is like a brick :)

I love my basilisk v3 pro, however middle mouse click became an issue. Fortunately, there was a relatively easy fix after tearing down my mouse. Now I need new skates for it to be perfectly smooth again. I have a few issues with the mouse button left and right on almost every mouse. That is why the tips of mice were most, if not all, fingers never touch. If you go too far on your mouse pad, hit a streaming deck or secondary PC, keyboard, or mouse and it actuates those buttons! I do not like it if I'm trying to adjust, say, OBS or CapCut edit, and run out of space to bump said mouse into something while I’m focusing on the screen and click this or that, screwing up all my concentration. I digress. I want 3 more index buttons and 4 thumb buttons like Logitech g700s. I honestly wish the g700s was still a thing. That is, by far to this day, my pinnacle of gaming and professional use for me in PUBG and editing back in the day 2017. Some jerks STOLE IT, so I went to g502 lasted a few months, then double click Ramada it and within weeks that one double-clicked Ramada it then the THIRD ONE after just 2 or 3 days I kid you not double-clicking, so I vowed to find a better brand “Racer” but not without their own issues I had a keyboard that would double-click all the time until two years later of firmware updates as it was optical switch glitch. So I learned after my tear down that the heaviest thing in the basilisk is the spin wheel and its mechanism weighs close to the weight of the entire mouse with the battery still in it. Reducing just that can cut at least 40% of its weight. RGB can go extra layers and can cast the top in fewer pieces, reducing having to be scabbed together, and you get a much lighter mouse. Shorten the tip and have it so it doesn't go past the base of the mouse. No more accidental clicks when you run into something. Less material, more weight-loss coat the inside with waterproof, dust-proof material and put holes in it like honeycomb or some spider web design boom special edition basilisk v4 pro Ultra lite. Lol rant dreams post over
