Why is Synapse and Macro failing so hard? | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have Synapse running and my Razer Mamba Elite registered. It is showing up on the Synapse program.

I have created a macro. I assigned the macro to a button on my mouse.

As soon as I do that, it shows a red symbol near the button on the diagram and says I need Synapse for this to work. I am literally in Synapse. I have tested it despite the red symbol, no luck.

How brain dead is this program to recognize my mouse but not recognize it?
I am thinking your Razer mamba elite has a chroma feature

What Synapse version are you using?

As per attached, I have 2 different Synapse app. Difference is Version 3 has an issue of not able to recognize non chroma/old (old as in 2013 - 2014 model) equipment

If you have chroma feature and your mouse newer model, try using RAZER Synapse version 3, which you can get from

https://www.razer.com/synapse-3

I have a deathadder 2013, which does not come with the chroma feature and Synapse version 3 will not recognize my mouse. So I have to use version 2 as well

https://www.razer.com/synapse-2

Try using both versions for now, and good luck.
I am having the issues with synapse-3 (I have a Razer mamba elite with chroma that does successfully modify when I change it in synapse.

I uninstalled and tried synapse 2. Synapse 2 refuses to even open after installation.

Tried reinstalling 3 and still have no luck with the macros.

Hi there! What type of Macro did you save? The Mamba Elite has a hybrid onboard memory feature but there are some types of macros that still need Synapse (such as the Type text, Run Command, Loop and Macro Group types). As for the red symbol, were you referring to the memory card-like icon? Let me know.
