2018 Razer Blade 15 is only 2 years old and the CPU is hitting temps of 100c

So this is pretty frustrating. I purchased this laptop brand new in 2019 and it is already in a condition where playing basic unreal engine games on low settings sends the CPU temperature up to 100c, causing games to crash.

Keeping the laptop elevated to allow for better airflow seems to slow down the temperature gain, but after about 1 hour of gaming the CPU will still reach 100c. My warranty has now expired so I've been directed towards this forum for support.

So far I've been recommended to "Undervolt" the laptop and/or to open it up and reapply thermal paste, but I'm hesitant to have to do this to a product that's only 2 years old. Is that normal?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Bumping again. Anybody out there?
Well, if anybody is stumbling across this thread in the future looking for advice on this issue, I fixed it myself. Ordered some new thermal paste, opened up the laptop to give it a good clean out/dusting of the fans etc.
The original thermal paste was literally crumbling into dust when I was cleaning it off the CPU/GPU so it was definitely due replacement. Added on the new thermal paste and my new max temperature is 90c. Big difference.
Here's the video tutorial I followed:
