49" Ultra Wide Screen Compatability

Hey Everyone, I have a Razer 15.6" Blade 15 Gaming Laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB GDDR5). I recently purchased a Samsung 49" Ultra Wide Screen Monitor with 5120 x 1440 Resolution. Unfortunately, when I select that Resolution on my Display Settings, the screen goes black. Eventually it will revert back to the 3840 x 1080 Resolution. I have the HDMI cable plugged from the monitor to a laptop "docking hub" and then from the docking hub into the USB C port on the Razer. When I go into my display settings, it says the graphics card that is being used is the Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630. I called B&H Photo where I purchased this and they said that the GeForce only kicks in when the system demands more power. Either way, I'm just looking for any recommendations on how I can get the full resolution out of this monitor. Thanks! Scot

Ok. So on a whim, I decided to plug my HDMI directy into my laptop hub and "abracadabra" it let me go to the full 5120 x 1440 Resolution. Does USBC not allow full resolution transfer?
