7.1 Surround Sound no longer working

so I've had my razer Kraken X headset since december and have been enjoying the 7.1 surround sound that it came with, that is until recently when I was playing a game and I thought something seamed off because it seamed like I could only hear sounds coming from directly in front of me but not behind or on either side. so I tried toggling the surround sound off then on to see if it was even working and I couldn't tell any difference between it being off and on. this has never happened before. I have tried uninstalling the razer surround sound app then restarting my pc then reinstalling but that didn't seam to help and it says I'm running the latest version, also my default audio device is set to be 7.1 surround sound. I know the surround sound has worked in the past it just stopped working recently.
