Audio Problems with Razer Kraken headset

I'm having problems with my Razer Kraken Multi-Platform headset for my PC. I have the 7.1 surround sound however it muffles all audio both in-game and out. While in-game the surround sound works but distorts all audio and is very distracting. I read that disabling exclusive mode and signal enhancements would fix the issue which it did. The audio in-game and out was much clearer however the surround sound stopped working properly. Sounds would cut out if not directly facing them and would become severely quiet even when right next to the source. Has anyone found a way to solve the muffled audio problem with 7.1 surround sound without messing it up? Any help would be appreciated.
