Blade 15 constantly hot

Hi, aside from a few minor trackpad issues I've been happy with my Blade 15 so far. For the past couple of weeks, it has been constantly and consistently running hot while casually streaming or browsing, even with no background apps running. I max out the fans, put it on auto, switch between gaming and balanced modes on synapse etc., it doesn't change much. I'm unable to use it while it touches any part of my body as it runs hot enough to burn my skin. Core Temp shows a weird "spiking" at CPU load(from around 5-6% to 30%) every couple of seconds and the temperature is mostly between 60-80 degrees. This is when I'm NOT gaming.

It throttles while gaming from time to time. I'm getting around 150 fps in LoL, 200 in CS:GO, 90 in CoD:MW and 140 in Fifa 20. All on 1080p with maxed out graphics. I'm not sure but I feel like these are a bit low for RTX 2080 MaxQ as well. They're not bad at all but my ex Asus laptop with GTX1070 performed slightly better on Fifa for example. I got a 14.500 on Fire Strike which is kind of low as well and the CPU temp was around 97-98 degrees. As a side note, I live in Montreal and my room is ambiently warm all the time.

Is there a problem with my machine or is this situation normal for such a compact device? I feel like it ran much cooler when it first arrived. Thank you all for your help in advance.

Hi,

I configured my blade advance with the rtx2080 to run consistently in the mid 70's c. First, go to your windows power policy and find the max processor state. set it to 99%. Then in Synapse, set to balanced and max out the fans.

You could look at undervolting, depending on your individual chip, that may be helpful.

Good luck
try to repaste it bro

Hey there! Are you still experiencing the issue? Please check the following that can affect your laptop's temperature:

  • Using load heavy programs such as games and media editing tools.
  • High Brightness settings
  • Turning on wireless features such as Wi-Fi / Bluetooth for long periods
  • A long sleep or screen timeout
  • Exposing the device to extreme hot or cold temperatures
  • High display resolutions
  • Having multiple peripherals plugged into the device (Keyboards, Mice, External monitors)

Should the issue persists, please send me a PM together with your Razer Blade 15's serial number. Let's continue from there.
