Looking for a new keyboard

Hi... not sure if Razer has the right keyboard for me... Looking to replace my existing Logitech G19s as the space bar has started malfunctioning after like 5 years of use.

The thing is, I'm not sure if there are any more keyboards as big and spaced out as the G19s. It is a full size keyboard and the inter-key spacing is larger as well. So, I'm looking for a keyboard that has the key/button size of the Orbweaver gaming keypad but with an inter-key spacing of approximately 2mm. Prefer it to be mechanical keys that feel like them good old typewriters.

Anyone any suggestions..??

Thanks.

For what purpose all users have in mind, whether the keyboard is used for gaming, writing, it does not matter what RAZER model keyboard you choose.

Personally, the importance is the key switch.

RAZER has 3 mechanical switches, which you can find out from the following~~~
https://www.razer.com/eu-en/razer-mechanical-switches

Green Switches (Clicky + Tactile)
Orange Switches (Silent + Tactile)
Yellow Switches (Silent + Linear)

Tactile: For every key press, it delivers a mechanical bump, which has been a sensation ever since IBM M Keyboard days.
Linear: Opposite to Tactile, just plain press.

I have a RAZER BlackWidow Stealth that came with Orange Switches. Which I find great for both gaming and writing. My reasons~~~

  • Faster key response compared to Green Switch (best for gaming)
  • Mechanical tactile bump that deliver great key press sensation (great for writers)
  • Silent

You may think about Green Switch or Yellow Switch. Let us hear others opinions~~~
It's not just about the switches that the keys use. For me, it also matters how big the keys are and how far they are spaced apart. One thing I dislike are those "full size" keyboards that have small keys and are placed so close together that it's actually uncomfortable to use.

In terms of key size, imagine the keys on the Razer Orbweaver gaming keypad. I use that for when I am gaming and hardly use my keyboard other than for chatting in-game or very few other things. In terms of spacing between keys, well... I guess, imagine the first generation of PCs and their keyboards..?? waaaaay back in the 80s/90s..??

Edit : I just had a look at the IBM keyboard you linked.. look at the spacing between the keys..!! THAT is the thing I am after as well.!!

Is it brand specific (Razer) or does the brand not matter as long as you get what you need? I have used the blackwidow and recently the huntsman elite and tbh after switching to a Ducky 60% i would not go back.
Brand does not matter so long as it is a full size keyboard has that mechanical (manual typewriter) typing feel and the key size and spacing are big enough. Those are the 4 things that are important. I have nice and long fingers.. don't like the feel of those keyboards with smaller keys spaced closer together.. feels cramped and uncomfortable.

Doesn't matter whether the keys themselves are loud and clicky or not.

I did spend some of my teenage years typing on an actual manual typewriter so I do seem to hit my keyboard keys with some force even after all these years so the kind of keyboard I am looking for would need to be able to withstand that sort of 'fast and furious' typing.!! LOL
