As stated above. Currently have a RP2 Reason for upgrade. Phone is old and speakers are going bad/ type c port seems to be coming loose. Key features I'd like to have in an upgrade:

Expandable storage through microSD High refresh screen (90hz+) Under 700 USD (might need to adjust but not willing to spend 1k+ on a phone.

Nice to have: Smart charge feature ( like what OnePlus has where your phone will trickle charge until your morning alarm goes off so it hits 100% by that time)

OnePlus 11 Pro will be ytour best bet - forget about expandable storage nobody does that anymore - its very slow compared to the storage that comes with the phone so not worth it
hey as you said forget expandable storage but why my dear ?

I used to be like you - every new phone i got had to have an SD card slot otherwise i wouldnt want it...

I slowly realised i was wrong for always demanding this,...sd cards are so slow compared to on-board storage these days that there realy is absolutely no point in expandable stoarage any more.

It causes inconsistencies with access speeds, makes the phone lag unnecesarily, and generaly is just pointless...

Yes. and no. There are really fast SDcard nowadays, but you have to spend more $$$ on it.
There's a big advantage of it. If phone is dead, you can just pull your SDcard and you have your photos and other stuff available.

but everything uses cloud backup now - you seriously dont need an sd card -

what about if you lose your phone the sd card is still in it then the photos are gone

also i have come accross a lot of SD cards which will become corrupt then you lose all your photos

use amazon photos, onedrive or dropbox to back your phonbe up - thats my advice - the other advantage here is your photos will be available on all your devices not just your phone , all the time

SD cards are super slow mate compared to the onboard phone storage now - if you install games or apps on the sd card you will notice massive lag when it keeps having to change from systrem to SD storage

I understand you because i was liek this for many years but i had to accept times have changed

Just get a phone with 512gb memory or 1tb and your good to go

if you are amazon prime member you get unlimited photo backup included (a ot of people dont know that)

your actual phone will backup using google services so your good

Not everyone wants to share private photos on the cloud 😉
