hi, i just got my razer blade 15 base model 2019 two days ago but i've unfortunately already met multiple issues.

First of all i want to say that i'm not trying to bringing down this laptop. i'm here to seek solutions because right now for me, this laptop is the best option that i've found, and i really want to use it in the best conditions.
    that being said.

i'm using my previous laptop that i've brought in 2016 as reference to compare with the razer 15 behavior :
Intel Core i5-4258U (2.9GHz) / 8GB ram / 128 go ssd DDR3, windows 8. My utilisation of the laptop: Mostly music production but also content creation that can become quicly resource demanding.

    2/wake up time:
I tought that i was being picky about this one but when i've made the comparaison i find it slow to wake up and get ready to use. My previous laptop with a lower spec and wear start way faster.

    3/ bug/freeze:
My laptop tend often to bug or even freeze. sometime it's just smal al lag to get an action done but other time it will freeze for few seconds ( it's not the all system that's freezing but usually the application that im using.).
For exemple when i've tried to open the windows file explorer the pc took some time to respond so i clicked again a few time more (not smartest thing to do i and then multiple tabs load up a the same time

    4/ Daw not working well:

5/ The performance difference between on battery and unpluged:
I can understand the need of being plugged to get better better performance and i'm ok whith it, but in some case i noticed a big gap in capacity for something that should be not resource demanding.
in photoshop i tried to color something with a stock brush from photshop. when pluged, everything was smooth no problem but when i've unplug the laptop the brush started to lag, i could not work with it at all.

Otherwise, this laptop work fine when i do small task. In those moments the user experience it really enjoyable but if i've choosen this laptop it's because i could do heavy work on it.

i've already download and installed all the drivers and updates that i could. i've aslo did a scan of the pc with the help of a razer support team member ( thanks to him ) and the scan found nothing wrong with the system.

I want to know if there is solutions available and aslo i wanted to have you review about your laptop

1 to 4, wait several days it’s probably windows still optimizing the new environment.
    5. Performance on battery in optimus laptop will throttle down because depends on what users doing laptops battery can’t supply enough power, more powerful the gpu throttle would be bigger, for example Desktop replacement Alienware 51m with full fat rtx2080 mobile would be defeated by 1070maxq Blade 15 on battery performance, I tested that on NBR forum.

hello, thanks for your reply !
Approximatly how many day should windows take to optimize the new environment?

And for the performance on battery i trust you on that. My only fear is that the laptop battery life could wear faster isn't it ?

It may be vary I do usually stress test, benchmarks on first week days to see if the unit free from hardware issues and and the daily usage in my case gaming, paperwork and media consumption, and playing around with Synapse setting power option, or testing sweat spot tweaking like cpu undervolting. Sometimes on optimus laptops that need harmony between nvidia, intel and windows OS, vendors driver update is also important.
About the battery it’s opposite I believe, throttle the performance means when you’re not using hard work that need nvidia power it’ll use intel gpu that more efficient and friendly to the battery. I had MX150 Laptop that the igpu locked which means doesn’t have optimus technology and battery wear was faster, a year almost i loose half battery capacity, though it may be other reasons like Windows Update or power hunger softwares, but compared to Blade stealth without dgpu the battery was a lot worse (it was similar ultrabook Xiaomi Air 13), 3 hours vs 7 hours. However base model Blade 15 hat around 65 Wh battery so it won’t be as great as advanced with 80Wh but the battery wear would be the same though, if you’re using on battery more, the wear would be also faster.

Ho i just realise that the part about "4/Daw not working well" did not load up!
But i've tried to give the laptop heavy work and it could handle it but in a very random way. Sometime it will load up and run consuming projects like it's nothing and orther time it will bug or even freeze to get a simple task done. That's make me think that this not a harware issue.

So your recomandation is : trying to tweak my parameters and waiting for driver update ?

Alright i understood for the battery thanks !

Once again thanks for your reply

I’m noob about daw, try to contact developer, maybe there’re similar issues out there. For example I had duet display run great on 2016 stealth without dgpu and not on Blade 15, developer said they’re working on it and it was known issue with the software and laptops with dgpu.

I would recommend try checking the setting, drivers, and Windows Update (my Blade 15 couldn’t install newest 1903, but after some cumulative update, finally it could yesterday, happy since finally I can run one new favorite game that only be able to run on that windows version) and rise support ticket, maybe they can examine the issue and if it doesn’t feed your usage expectations you can ask refund, since you rise ticket within return window.
