Razer Blade 2018 Advanced webcam not detected

The webcam on my Razer Blade 15 2018 Advanced is still not detected. It's been broken since last yet, and Razer has done nothing to fix the issue. I'm out of warranty, and I refuse to pay money to repair a hardware flaw. I hope Razer addresses this issue by issuing a recall or at least providing users with a replacement external webcam. I take very good care of stuff, so it's certainly not from user error.

Did you open it to upgrade ram or repasting btw? If yes, try to reslot the webcam cable gently, it’s one that crossing your ram and vapor chamber. I’ve exact model had once same issue after repasting it (opened vapor chamber that needs to unplug display and webcam cables.

Yeah, I tried to reseat the cable twice, but it didn't do anything for me. It was working fine for about 6-months before completely dying on me. At first, it seemed to be driver-related because it would work after reinstalling it, but then it just died altogether.

I see. Only confirmation, did you reseat it while bottom lid opened? I tried this second time I loose the connection by plugging it and moving the cable to find the right seat for the connector. In this over 3 years owning it, I didn’t remember if I ever care about hardware drivers since especially it’s done by windows update, so probably hardware issue, especially since it’s placed over vapor chamber and routed to the display hinge that might wearing for some period.

Do you have a Hardware ID of the camera? Might be able to search for the appropriate drivers in the Windows Update Catalog as a last resort.
