Razer Blade Pro 17 (late 2019) BIOS / CMOS reset

Hi all,

I recently replaced the stock 16GB of RAM with Crusial Ballistix 64GB 3200. POST went fine (if a little slow), and I got into the BIOS. I saw the new RAM and then went into the memory overclocking section. I changed it to XMP 1 and saved and rebooted. When it rebooted only the keyboard lights came on and the machine didn't get to the POST screen. After trying various things I swapped out the RAM and put the old DIMMs back in. Unfortunately that didn't accomplish anything and I still get the blank screen and keyboard lights. I tried an external monitor and that didn't do anything.

I can't believe that changing a BIOS setting would actually brick the machine and I know that both sets of RAM are functional. If it were a desktop rig I would try clearing CMOS, which is usually trivial on a motherboard. Is there a way to clear CMOS / BIOS to default settings so I can try again?

I found a post with some keystrokes involving arrows and Enter for a 2016 machine and that didn't work.
Does anyone know how to do a physical BIOS / CMOS reset?

Hi all,

I figured it out. I let the main battery drain to the point it wouldn't turn on. I then removed the cover and found the CMOS battery on the left side of the motherboard. I removed that for 30 seconds, replaced it, plugged it back in and turned it on, and it worked, so now it is back to normal. Whew!

I didn't know I could upgrade to 3200. I tought it wasn't compatible. How is it working for you so far? Also, how are your temps on this laptop? I have the same laptop and when playing COD: MW my CPU goes up to 100 degrees C .
