Razer Respawn Review: Nectar Of The Gods!

Last week I got the amazing opportunity to try out the new Razer mental performance drink, Respawn!

Now I know Respawn isn't technically an Energy drink but I had recently given up all sorts of energy drinks and didn't really have anything else to fall back to (Coffee tastes like liquid burnt toast! Yuck!) So I jumped at the opportunity to be able to try something new and on top of that something made by Razer!

So of course there are 4 flavours of Respawn. Pomegranate Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, Green Apple and Tropical Pineapple.

I started the week with the Blue Raspberry, I carefully read the pack of the packs I got and mixed it together with 20oz of water. Unfortunately I didn't get the awesome shaker with the samples so I just put it into a blender to make sure the powder was fully mixed.

One thing I will note about the shaker is that it will leave you out of one thing and that's the awesome colour that hits as soon as the powder hits the water! the powder starts as a white substance but as soon as it hits the water the powder slowly starts to change colour to a bright shade of whichever flavour you placed in, it really really looks delicious.

So after I finished mixing up the Blue Raspberry I finally took my first taste.....it was oookay. It was kinda like a dull version of a blue slushie but the most awesome part was that it allowed me to see dead people! jokes aside it didn't taste the greatest. My Other half then took a taste of the Blue Raspberry as she was also very interested in trying out Razer's drink. She really liked the Blue Raspberry and then proceeded to take one of the 2 sample boxes I received!




Even though I wasn't sold on the taste of the Blue Raspberry I took it to work with me anyway to see if the Caffeine that was in the drink would help me stay awake and not be as tired during work (I work night shift so i can get pretty sleepy) well I can soldily say that the drink helped wonders! for the first time even when I was on energy drinks I didn't yawn or get sleepy while at work! I was more awake and alert than I usually am! it was fantastic! I savoured the amount rather than down it for the rest of the night and I have to say the results were amazing!

Now one of the key factors to why I gave up energy drinks was the fact that they had the issue of stopping me from sleeping....I've had sleep problems for years but I needed something to get me through my job so there was no winning really. Thankfully after my week of using Respawn this was an issue I didn't once have! I was able to sleep no problem even after drinking it and had zero issues from the drink! It was really amazing!

Onto day 2, I decided to give the Green Apple a try.



Like the Blue it went straight from a white powder to this glorious bright green! It looked so yummy! but I was expecting less about the flavour after the taste of the Blue Raspberry. I took a sip and i immediately knew this, this was the flavour for me! it was soooo nice! even though there was no sugar it tasted so sweet and came with a good kick after drinking, i'd go as far as to say that the Green Apple actually kept me more active and awake than the Blue Raspberry but that is probably because I enjoyed the taste so much! I can't overstate this enough but the Green Apple is the flavour you all need to get! (Although @Dekades would say otherwise but he's out numbered 😜) However that now brings me to the 3rd flavour and our chief @Dekades favourite, Pomegranate Watermelon.



Pomegranate Watermelon turns a nice red when it's all mixed up, it's a really inviting drink. Not too violently red as to make people think "WTF are you drinking!" But enough to kinda make people think it's a fruit juice and tbh much like the Green Apple you'd be excused for thinking it was just fruit juice! The pomegranate Watermelon is just as nice as the Green Apple flavour! it's really sweet (even with zero sugar!) it took a good think to which flavour I liked more, the Green Apple and Pomegranate Watermelon were so close! they both rock and I would drink either one of them any time but Green Apple was just a tiny bit better than the Pomegranate Watermelon.

Finally we get the what i'd call the worst one...Tropical Pineapple. Of course when it comes to flavours everyone is going to be different but to me this was the worst one of all 4. It just didn't taste nice at all to me. of course I finished it as i'm not one to waste anything but I don't think I would buy this flavour (if i could buy any that is lol) Tropical Pineapple turns the water a nice bright yellow colour when mixed in but for the taste I can only say to me it was like drinking a very flat open can of lilt (not sure if my US brethren have this drink).

After the 4 nights I of course ran out of Respawn (Thanks to my Other Half lol) but I was sold on the product. It really works! Razer must have spent a long time in creating this drink and the time they took really paid off! if Respawn launches here i'll be 100% making it my new soft drink for work and activities (Gaming one of them of course 😜)

I also wanted to make sure you all know I tested the product in real life scenarios and not just in an office taste testing which imo doesn't help with this product in question.

TL;DR

The drink works! doesn't have the issues other high caffeine drinks has for me. I drank it every night while on Night Shift for my job so I tested it while working and it kept me going!
