Hello! I have been a long time Razer Peripheral and software user, one of my absolute favorite pieces of software being Razer Surround 7.1 software. I have had Alienware laptops for a number of years, and they generally come prepacked with Realtek Audio cards however I found many moons ago that by running the Razer Surround software It generally made my audio sound SUBSTANTIALLY nicer and more full. Ive been using this software for over 6 years easily, and every time I've upgraded I've always used the same version of the software as it has always worked flawlessly and always said it was up to date. Unfortunately a recent windows update has caused some issues with the legacy audio controller, and it crackles constantly no matter what source I send the audio through or what is producing the signal, and unfortunately the culprit is the Legacy surround software. Now I've seen that Razer has a new more updated Surround 7.1 Software available but unfortunately it looks like it is locked behind a registration key to even use? 😞 I have had Razer headsets in the past few years but I do not own one currently, and unfortunately I am not in the market to get a new one any time soon. When I installed the Razer Surround Software initially I could hear how the software was making the audio sound in my headset and it was back to the familiar warm sound that I enjoy, however once I tried to open it to change settings I was met with the registration key requirement to even enable, and when I try and use the audio controller now its silent. Please if anyone has any suggestions, or ideas on how I can get this working without having to actually purchase a new headset...or maybe an alternative I could use that might make my audio sound a little nicer than the default audio controller? /sigh

I think I have the same problem. But are you sure?

After switching to
"Realtek High Definition Audio" speakers
the sound is ok.
But after switching to
Speakers (Razer Surround Audi Controller) to use option 7.1. The sound is indistinct, it creaks terribly. And there is an echo.
I don't understand why this is happening.
Reinstalling did not help.

I am using Razer Synapse 2.0

Like my colleague above, when I downloaded the new software for 7.1 sound, my code did not work.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing your feedback/concerns here. Our Support Team is aware of the audio quality behavior of the Razer Surround Sound Pro. I suggest submitting a case to our Support Team so they can easily track all the affected users which can help their investigation or send me a PM.
