Hey @masterblaster! Synapse 2.0 is the main app while the Surround Pro is the module that will enable surround sound for most if not all headsets. Although Synapse has volume and lighting settings, the Surround Pro module handles all advanced configurations as well as audio processing to simulate a surround sound experience.
Thank you, I have Synapse 2.0 and Surround Pro installed for my Kraken 7.1 v2 headset. This headset isn't listed in the Surround Pro as an option. Thoughts?
I have read the Kraken 7.1 v2 headset shoudln't use Surround Pro as it gets 7.1 with Synapse 2.0 only?

Your headset already has 7.1 surround support built into Synapse so there is no need to install the Surround Pro module. Should you have any other questions about this, feel free to send me a PM. :wink_:
Razer.Caziel, you seem to say two opposite things in these 2 posts.

I'm not trying to be argumentative but can you tell me how the first response opposes the second?
Well....
In the OP I told you I had a Kraken 7.1 v2 headset. I asked "what is the difference between Razer Surround Pro and Razer Synapse 2.0" and which was better for me. You said "Synapse 2.0 is the main app while the Surround Pro is the module that will enable surround sound" and "Synapse has volume and lighting settings, the Surround Pro module handles all advanced configurations as well as audio processing to simulate a surround sound experience" What you are saying is I need both for my Kraken 7.1 v2 headset.
Then in your second post you say "Your headset already has 7.1 surround support built into Synapse so there is no need to install the Surround Pro module".
If the first is true, the second can't be.

Thanks for pointing that out and I'm sorry if I made things more confusing. On my first response, I only touched about the differences between Synapse and Surround pro when I should've talked about why you wouldn't need the module for a Synapse supported headset. The Surround Pro module was designed to give analog headsets users the 7.1 surround sound experience which was previously only available to USB headsets.

Razer Surround Pro is designed for the 3.5mm audio jack headsets, All Razer USB and Wireless headsets come from the factory with their own version of it built into Synapse 2.0 so you have no need to have that program installed, remove it and run only Synapse 2.0.
