[BRANDNEW] Blackwidow V4 Pro not working (No Snap-Tap, No Command Dial, No Customization, No Makros)

So yesterday I got my new Blackwidow V4 Pro, and I got immediately very exicted. That excitement however was short-lived cause I soon realized that Razer seems to not really fix issues in their software. I don't know if I did something wrong here. but from all I've read online so far Synapse 4 is VERY buggy and does not AT ALL deserve to be called a finished software.

Once I first plugged the Keyboard in. Synapse 3 popped up, so I naturally installed it, thinking it was the like "newest", or "most developed" Version there is right now. Once I wrapped my head around the software, understanding how it worked a bit I noticed **two** VERY crutial things about Synapse 3.

1. Firstly: Snap-Tap is only available for Synapse 4
2. Secondly: You cannot lay customize the Command Dial (which, in case you didn't already know is like the "main"  gimick of the keyboard)

After a quick internet search though I was delighted with the solution being as easy as just installing the newest version of Razer's software: Synapse 4.
I was a bit confused, because why would they pre-install a faulty version of their software with-in the keyboard but I didn't really think too much about it, after all it could all just be like that they just hadn't had changed the software yet, especially cause Synapse 4 was relatively fresh out of beta.
Little did I know that this software is further from finished than battlefield 2042.

For short: Synapse 4 does not only not work, it even causes other features like the command dial to not work.
For long: After Synapse 4 takes controll over your keyboard management following features will not work anymore:

-Command Dial
-Light Customization
-Makros
-Snap-Tap
...
I think part of the issue lies in the fact that there is only an aproximetly 5% chance that the changes you made in the editor will actually be saved or registered or smt, I'm not an expert though, so I could be very wrong.

IF this is a known Issue, let me know a fix asap, otherwise I'll see myself forced to return the keyboard, as sad as it is, cause I actually like the design a lot. would be a shame if the software bottlenecks the hardware yet again.

thx madaja :)

i have the same problem. only thing i can seem to customize with the blackwidow v4 pro that i also recently bought is the rgb, and that is only using the “apply to other chroma enabled devices” using a different razer device. it just says loading everytime i try to open up the keyboard in synapse4.

Ive had mine a few months and cured most of the keyboard issues.

Quite simple really it only needs to have its clickyness reduced and typing stops double bouncing macros work as they should etc. How I hear you say.

Simple for the princely sum of 5 GBP I bought some white neoprene rings to go on each key, this stops the key sinking all the way into the green key body no matter how heavy handed you get without realising your doing it.

The click suppressors took me about an hour to fit on all the keys apart from the space bar, return key and F keys which are not used anywhere near the length of time the others get abused.

Ive done this with most mechanical keyboards Ive had in the past to reduce the noise for one and to stop the solid hit at the bottom of the keystroke. Older mecahnical keyboards all usd to have the case of causing Repetative strain injury on secretary’s finger tips. This cure not only fixes the problem but add to the longevity on most Mechanical keyboards.

The one thing about the Balckwidow that does concern me is the fact of plugging in a Type C USB cable for the data and for the passthrough. Mechanically the USB sockets arent the strongest idea in the world, personally Id like to see a fixed in cable with a bend suppression wrap on it, one item dropped on the plug and the likelyhood is that the plug will open the socket fame and cause issues with data loss and connection issues.

Macros Ive had zero problems with because I dont key bounce due to the suppressor rings.

Id give the Widow a glowing 9 out of 10, just let down by the USB plugs iinstead of fixed wires or a decent Wifi / bluetooth set.
