Does the Razer Huntsman V2 save preset RGB+brightness and polling rate without Synapse?

Hello,

I bought the Razer Huntsman V2 last Thursday from Currys Store here in the UK, though I have not opened the box yet!

After reading on the keyboard, I read that the RGB default lighting is Spectrum and I’ll need to use the Synapse software at all times for RGB lighting effects to remain as exiting will revert back to the default spectrum RGB.

I read that there are preset lighting effects where you can press FN+CTRL+1-7 keys to change the lighting manually without the dependency of the synapse software.

The question is, does this setting remain saved? I’m reading conflicting information on the web including reddit that this works for the Razer Huntsman TE/Mini. but others are saying on the Amazon UK reviews that as soon as your PC restarts or wakes up from sleep mode the keyboard will return back to Spectrum RGB lighting.

Let’s just say I want to turn the RGB lighting completely off from the keyboard or increase or decrease the brightness using the keyboard button presets. Will this remain permanently saved in the onboard memory? Or will I still need the software to always run in the background for these settings to remain in place.

Lastly I want to know whether increasing the keyboard polling rate up to 8000Hz polling rate will also remain saved in memory once I set it and exit the Synapse software.

If this can be confirmed then I’ll keep the keyboard. But if those settings don’t remain save, I’m afraid I’ll have to return the keyboard for a full refund. I bought this keyboard on the basis of onboard memory. If I can’t at least save the preset options then there will be no point using it.

Many thanks.

I purchased a Huntsman V2 TKL (Red v2 Keys) a couple of days ago and it's a really nice keyboard. It replaced my Huntsman Mini (Red Keys).

As for the lighting synapse is good, but if you do not want to use synapse then you can just use the basic "built-in" effects. But you will lose out on being able to change all the other settings relating to polling rates etc.

I've read a few conflicting chats where some say you can save profiles to the keyboard for the RGB.... But many of the settings like the hypershift require synapse to be installed and running. I'm not sure about the macros either.

I was trying to use a 3rd party program to control the colours called Artemis RGB by handing over RGB control to Open RGB first and it works brilliantly when synapse isn't running (No hypershift + many other missing features and no polling rate control). But with synapse running it strobes and causes all sorts of conflicts.

Synapse is directly hostile to most if not all alternate RGB apps.

So all in all I'm using synapse, just because they make it difficult not to.

Edit: from what I can gather many settings eg keybinds and others save to internal memory, but not any personal colour profiles.

It saves polling rate(both mouse and keyboard), remaps from normal keys(not media keys) to other keys(ex: bind ← to A, no macros, no shortcuts etc.), mouse dpi presets brightness(not presets). So basically you get the default rgb upon uninstalling, similar to when you are in bios screen.
I’m very thankful for the polling rate and dpi presets  being able to be saved. Everything else needs this bloatware(why it uses so much resources?). So i’ll keep myself on no rgb 0 brightness and play like this.
Just bought huntsman V2(had huntsman before) and the latency improvement is HUGE!
