Razer,
For the most part, I love the Razer Huntsman Mini. It does however have one glaring design flaw via the software - combining the 'FN' function key with HyperShift.
I use HyperShift exclusively on my mouse; yet with the fixed function keys on the Hunstman Mini I find I am activating Windows Volume functions which interrupt gameplay and severely disrupt the experience.
The simple solution would be to allow an option for 'FN' & HyperShift to operate independently OR the less likely solution to allow for all keys to be remappable.
I'd appreciate the feedback on this matter since this is a real deal breaker to using this keyboard going forward..
Many thanks,

Any response from Razer about this? (Under the assumption that they review these forums..)
..
Would like to see a response to this - it's mind boggling that a gaming keyboard has un-mappable WASD assigned to Windows Media controls.

#shameless bump once again.

I only starting noticing this flaw today, because after I decided to redo my cable management, i decided to only use the mini on my desk. After playing a match in Apex Legends, i realised, that when I use hypershift on my mouse, where I use it to heal and all of the abilities, i cant wasd, because volume starts changing and sometimes the w key gets stuck, so I have to press it again to make it work - my guess ir that i press w while pressing hypershift on mouse to heal with scroll-wheel, and release hypershift, and since I was holding W after i disabled hypershift, the input got stuck on the fn function. I dont mind the placement of the FN layer, i just dont understand why hypershift activates FN - i thought that was a different function, and shouldnt do that. Before I had 2 keyboards at all times on my desk - huntsman mini and blackwidow TE both pluggend in, and played on the mini and with that setup this issue was not present, which is weird.
That's interesting that you didn't get the issue with the Blackwidow TE.
I can confirm that Hypershift via mouse also activates the FN function on the Huntsman TE, so perhaps this is either a feature or an issue that is only prevalent on the Huntsman series?
Either way, we need a response from Razer on this..

I actually made it work completely by accident lol. I dont know if it’s a bug or a fix, but if you go to “profiles” tab in razer synapse and add devices to specific games, then when I added all of my devices to my games, but forgot that I had a profile from a while ago set up for my basilisk ultimate pro with the same bonds etc, and launching Apex Legends after I had set up my new pc I was confused, because I already had my muscle memory set up to not pressing QWE on keyboard when pressing hypershift + heal bind on mouse to not get stuck in a pressed down W key, which is that happens usualy when I diddnt get the timing right. And when I noticed that nothing happened when I should had messed up, I got confused. Turns out, if keyboard profile and mouse profile are separate from each other, they don’t interact with each other, it seems. Tested two instances - putting every device on the same default profile and on profile tab added all devices except huntsman mini with that profile to a specific game, and mouse hypershift pressed down diddnt do anything to the keyboard - no multimedia keys and even hypershift layer on keyboard diddnt work. And then I also tried making a different profile for keyboard and on Apex chose every device with default profile except keyboard with a different profile and it worked again! I guess you should also just remove every connected app in profile tab and just be sure that you allways have a different profile for your mouse and keyboard. That’s why my old blackwidow chroma v2 diddnt interact when I bought my basilisk - it had the profiles I’ve been using for years for my previous pc, and Basilisk made a new default profile for itself, because different name for my computer, and because they used different profiles, I diddnt notice the stupid issue with hypershift. But when I got the huntsman, it made its “default” profile the same as my basilisks, and then the problem “started” I feel so stupid now

Today it randomly stopped working again :D
I can play normally if i close synapse before launching the games and have no profiles on the keyboard. It turns off the fn on the keyboard completely when FN + APP key is pressed.

Thanks for the response - more than we are getting from Razer.
It's disheartening since this is a brilliant keyboard aside this junk modifier key implementation.
Update on this from my end for what it's worth. I've taken the plunge to go w/ a ROG Flachion.
The Mini is a great keyboard but far to limited when it comes down to the hard set modifier keys, combined with Razer's implementation of HyperShift that also activates the standard Function key setting on the a keyboard. This in-turn makes it practically useless as a gaming keyboard. A real shame.
