Strange bug with Tartarus Pro and Synapse 4 | Razer Insider

Just built a new PC with a fresh Windows 11 install, and decided to try Synapse 4 (previously used 3). I’m seeing some odd behavior with my profile in Synapse 4 that works OK in Synapse 3. I’ve duplicated the problem on a brand new profile to rule out import issues, and duplicated it with a spare (older) Tartarus Pro that I have.

I’m curious if anyone can duplicate this, or if I should start looking elsewhere for the problem.

On a fresh profile, these keys in particular demonstrate the issue.

I’ve set:

  • 07 to keyboard alphanumeric 7
  • 16 to keyboard modifier ALT
  • 17 to keyboard alphanumeric 7 with CTRL modifier (CTRL+7)

When I hold the 16 key and press 07, I expect the output to be ALT+7, but it appears to send BOTH the 07 and 17 keys in parallel, resulting in overlapping outputs. Sometimes ALT+7 comes out first, but it’s usually CTRL+ALT+7.

This doesn’t seem to affect the other keys, i.e. I can have 08 and 18 set up similarly and they work fine.

For now I’ve switched back to Synapse 3, which doesn’t exhibit this behavior. Can anyone reproduce this in Synapse 4?

I have the exact same issue - Pressing 16 as CTRL and 7 as 1, it activates 7 AND 17 at the same time. Doesn’t happen if I hit the correlating combination via keyboard.

I was going insane trying to figure out what was happening, as it kept hitting specific keybinds in an MMO. Haven’t found a solution yet.

Same issue here.  07 is bound to 1 on mine. Holding shift will type both ! and A. I can’t figure out why A because default bind is Q. Neither turbo or modifier is active. When looking at the keybind editor on 07 its the only key that will show a check box under turbo for modifier. Even though it shows unchecked it seems to be applying something without a modifier even being present. if you create profiles to Keymap 3 that box is gone but does not fix the issue.
