My "desk" (kitchen table) has fold out leaves which increase the available surface area, which has been necessary for using it as my "desk." The problem is the leaves are uneven with the main table surface, which causes my mouse to catch on the gap CONSTANTLY.

So I need some kind of a mousepad to bridge the gap and get a smooth surface back. The total mouse area I have available is about 6.5"(W) x 8"(H). Alternatively, if get something the keyboard can rest on as well, I can sustain about 26"(W) x 8-9"(H) (anything more would destabilize the Chroma Laptop Stand). If I put the entire stand on the mat, I can handle about 31"(W) x 16"(H).

Any ideas? I thought about one of those gaming mats but am concerned the cloth won't be enough to address the edge and i'll be left with the same problem and a fancy mat.

Your recommendations, please! Thanks!

I have the same "setup", and I put my mouse pad aligned with the leaf cracks. This way my mouse doesn't jump.

That's what I intend to do but need to find a mousepad that will fit in the available space I have. I am good with a keyboard/mouse extended mousepad setup but the sizing is a pain and it seems like most them are shipped from China.
I am using some generic HP Omen mouse pad. It's not a hard cloth, it's a soft cloth. I have it aligned next to the leaf crack so it doesn't have an uneven texture. It's a really big mousepad. a small bit of it hangs off the corner of the table.

You look at Goliatus extended chroma ? From razer is the biggest mousepad you can get and i dont know if it's not an issue for you but this is cloth.

I am now. I bought a few mousepads from them directly. Either way, the shipping was very fast. The rest of my Razer items (Stealth 2019, Core X, Laptop Stand Chroma, and Base Station Chroma) have all come from Amazon.

In any case, I replaced my table with a proper desk from Ikea. Much better setup although I could still use more space so I could add a second monitor. Even with my new setup, those extended 36 inch mousemats are still too big because of how I have my desk arranged.
