Hi all.



I've had the Razer Mamba Elite for some years now.



Last week, I performed a clean install of Windows 11 from scratch (booted from a USB drive). After the installation, I started installing my various drivers & software programs, which, of course, included Razer Synapse 3.



As part of installing Razer Synapse 3, I logged into my account. I see a message flash across my screen about syncing with Razer's "cloud" so it can retrieve my customized settings, which includes the customized lighting & colors I have for my mouse (a certain color of light for the trim, the Razer logo, and the center wheel) .... but my custom lighting does not show up on my mouse.



When it logs into my account ("syncs"), the mouse "blinks" with a brief flash, but then the lights just start cycling through a rainbow of colors.



Anyone know what's wrong? Is there a compatibility issue with Windows 11? I've contacted razer Tech Support, but they're a long time in responding (perhaps short-staffed due to the pandemic thing?).

Am I missing something? Where's the controls that let me choose the colors for the various areas of my mouse? The trim, the Razer logo, and the center wheel?

Everything is correct - it cycling through rainbow of colors, because your quick settings are set to "Spectrum cycling".

I don't see Chroma Studio tab (the place when you can individually change for eg. logo / scroll color - I assume it wasn't selected in the installer.

Run Synapse installer again, and select Chroma Studio module to install.

Holy cow, I think you may have hit upon the solution!!!



Besides posting a message here on these Razer forums, I had also contacted Razer Tech Support at the same time. Sometimes (and this is not just with Razer, but other companies I have contacted too throughout the years) I get an informative, quicker response on forums than I do from an official company representative. Go figure! o_O



It's almost two weeks now that I have been in contact with Razer Tech Support, and the representative who answers my inquiry will have me try something, check a setting, take a screenshot, gather and submit a ZIP/ text file for them, uninstall/ reinstall, etc. My case has also gone through multiple Razer representatives; Level 1, level 2, and Senior Tech Support reps; I'm starting to lose count.



During my correspondences with them, I'll sometimes ask them a question....which they never seem to answer; it makes me think that they really don't read what I write but are rather just Copying/ Pasting from some pre-made, ready-at-hand forms they have.



When I was writing to them, I asked this: "Let me ask you something: When launching the installer for Synapse 3, there is automatically a checkmark in the box next to "Razer Synapse". Underneath of this is Optional Synapse Modules": "Chroma Connect/ Chroma Studio/ Chroma Visualizer"; all three of these have checkmarks in their boxes. I don't want the optional installs, so I uncheck them (the "Razer Synapse" by itself is already enough of a large-size install in-and-of itself; I don't like bloating my system; there's even further additional installs of "Razer Cortex", Razer Virtual Ring Light", "Streamer Companion App", and "THX Spatial Audio"; that's all too much, so no, I do not install those either). So, my question is: Isn't the install of "Razer Synapse" all that is need to customize my mouse, lighting, etc.?"



Well, FiszPL, in your response, you mentioned "I don't see Chroma Studio tab....Run Synapse installer again, and select Chroma Studio module to install". In my quote up above where I showed you what I asked Razer Tech Support, you may have noticed I underlined "Chroma Studio".....and then you yourself mentioned about installing this very module. Well, as I mentioned, when I ask Razer Support a question, they don't always answer me.



I asked Razer Support about those three items, Chroma Connect/ Chroma Studio/ Chroma Visualizer, and how they're listed as Optional when initially installing Razer Synapse 3. When installing any and all kinds of software, many companies will automatically have "Optional" items already checkmarked so they'll get installed. For me, I'm careful to just keep reflexively clicking "Next...Next....Next", and I'll uncheck Optional items. Some of this stuff is just basically bloatware.



But it looks like it turns out that Chroma Studio may not really be an "Optional" install if one wants to color-customize the lighting on their mouse. I think it would be safe to say that the reason a person obtains a Razer mouse (or keyboard, etc.) is because they're interested in the precision of the device and its customobilty as far as colorizing the lighting.



You'll notice in my quote above that I asked of Razer Support, that I asked "Isn't the install of "Razer Synapse" all that is need to customize my mouse, lighting, etc.?" But they did not answer that. If it turns out that the "Optional" install of Chroma Studio is needed to customize the colors of the lighting on the mouse, then they should have said so.



I'll have to check this out later and test it (Chroma Studio) on my computer/ mouse when I get home.



Again, holy cow!! If this turns out to be the answer and solution to my issue (Chroma Studio), then this was a whole lotta two-weeks-worth of back-and-forth with Razer Tech Support :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:
