Razer Mamba 2012 not working (three green lights blinking - what does this mean?)

Hi all - my Mamba has been working flawlessly for 10 years until now.

Battery started to have difficulty holding a charge for long so I bought a generic replacement.

After replacing the battery, I placed on the charging dock and the green lights were blinking sequentially indicating charging is occurring. 20 hours later… still doing this. I take it off the dock, place it back on and now the mouse is showing three green light blinking, approx. once per second. Not sequential blinking as is shown when charging, but all three coming on at once and then off. Razer’s manual don’t make any reference to what three simultaneous blinking green lights means. I have attempted charging directly to the mouse (i.e. not using the dock) but exactly the same symptoms are shown. I’ve reverted back to the original battery and also no improvement. All contact terminals are clean. I have changed USB ports.

The mouse continues to operate ok in WIRED mode but does not work at all in WIRELESS mode. In wireless mode there is no indication of power whatsoever within the mouse i.e. no lights come on.

Is it possible that simply changing the battery has fried the mouse? (the mouse was “off” at the time of changeover). Any advice most welcome. Thanks.

SOLVED.

It looks like the contact of the battery with the internal contacts were not connecting. It was NOT due to dirty contacts. I know this because manually pushing the battery in gently whilst in operation enabled the mouse to turn on/power up.

My solution was to insert some folder paper within the battery compartment to provide a bit of pressure on the battery so it would better touch the contacts. It now appears to be working properly.

Also, by process of deduction, I presume the simultaneous three blinking green lights means “battery not detected”. Because it also does this if I try charging the battery WITHOUT a battery in the compartment.

Probably a fairly unique problem to my mouse - but leaving here in case it helps anyone.

hey man whatssup, i also have a 2012 mamba wich i recently got… but i cant have it working on wireless mode, any advice help?, my dock doesnt seem to connect, the lights start blinking and as soon as i press the mouse button to connect it stops and the mouse continues blinking… playing around w the dock i found a way to make them blink both together but still seems to not work. i tried to update the firmware on the dock but the program wont recognize it, so i just updated the mamba to its latest, still i figured out that they dont work so well.
