That's clearly something unexpected from Razer.
And it's a good surprise, I may consider to buy one so my geek family could mange way better sharing the bandwich beetween each device.
This option for prioritize your specific apps is really nice idea and ,,Dynamic Frequency Selection´´ is great benefit. Yea, I know u will get dedicated app but still i think this router is a bit overpriced.

a little bit overpriced, at least in Italy where I live. Asus and Netgear offer the same at a lower price and for sure better support and faster firmware updates...
the Design is awesome btw. is the top lighting?

It looks like it's not.
Take my money XD💸💸💸
wait.. what
Yes Razer :big_grin_: You do listen to our suggestions with ideas for new Razer products :wink_: nice work and it looks awesome hope to have it soon in my home network
I've really enjoyed watching Razer branch out over the years going from exclusively focused on CPU hardware to diversifying to include products tailored to fit its sole followers: gamers. Although I do love my PC, it's hard to stay permanently rooted to it while titles such as Pokemon and Halo are still out there, so I can't help but be excited to be able to better integrate Razer products into all that. Kind of a budget gamer, but the Sila is definitely gonna be an exception for me.
It would be nice to have a gaming router but you know here in Italy my connection doesnt go over 5Mbps so.... Yeah maybe in the future when we get out of middle ages here i will buy it... 😡
How many sockets? Is that 4 + 1 to connect to your network? Or is it 3 + 1 which is useless for me?
(NAS Drive, AVR, TiVo, PS4)

Edit : reading further that's 3 LAN +1 WAN. That's poor.

Either NAS, PS or TiVo would need to go onto WiFi. (Arcam say they don't believe in WiFi in audio equipment).
Or does anyone know if qnap usb to the usb 3 socket on the razer here would work? (Are these normally UPnP?)
where are the crazy looking antennas
Hi!!

Ganym3de
I'm instrested to see the improvements over the Portal, especially given the price jump. Given the history of rebranding stuff I hope not to open this thing up and it being go the exact same hardware.

The control you have of your network, especially monitoring, for troubleshooting and optimization, is extremely lackluster. Being bound to a single phone also sucks.

That new design tho 10/10

I looked at the specs and as far as i can tell the difference apart from the design/aesthaetics seems to be the Razer Silas is AC3000 as compared to the Portal which runs AC2600 - this also seem to be the cause for the price difference - the higher number means that it can handle more bandwith.
Where are all the pointy antennas like the ASUS AC5300 ?

If will support my internet provider i will buy it but on razer webstite dont give spec about network line ;/
wow really nice 😛
I do not want to start any flame wars here, and i really do not hold a degree in physics, but afaik all those antennas on some wifi products are (while being real antennas) just for show and do not actually result in better reception. I bought myself a portal router in Feb - had to, my old time capsule broke down and I was unable to repair it, and the portal also does not have any kind of outside visible antennas - yet it has in my case superior reception quality. To be really accurate, i would have to borrow one of those big asus things and take it home one day and test against my portal. I might just do it one day.. ;)

Mhmm good question - do you use pppoe or something arcane like pptp or just plain dhcp?

PPPoE but the problem is there are two difrent line type name aneks A and aneks B my provider support only b type. On specification i dont find any info about connection service in razer website it's a lottery ;/
i can take that!
what a slick looking bit of kit
wooot! sounds rly cool guys!

The design is slick and cool, I want one!
Hello. I am having issues connecting the router to my iPhone app via Bluetooth. The router cannot be found. I had followed the troubleshooting guides. Anyway to resolve this?

Not sure if you have turned ON the iPhone Bluetooth?
If you have turn ON the iphone BT, perhaps try to press the RESET button of the router for 6-10sec until you have seen blinking blue light. This will rest router to default factory setting.
Wait for the router to get connected 1st when it turn Green.
Turn ON the APP and try to connect again...

These special channels let you beat the crowd for incredibly fast and reliable WiFi, even during peak hours.

With a second Razer Sila unit, you can activate a dual algorithm Hybrid Wireless Mesh, giving you coverage that completely blankets your home in WiFi, eliminating dead spots so you’ll get a fast uninterrupted connection no matter where you are at home.
