Freyja Haptics Not Activating on Specific Audio Devices

Hi all,

I thought of contacting folks here. I recently got the Freyja. It actually works really well for music under very specific conditions when using the audio-to-haptics mode. I still have to test it out when gaming with directly supported games since I don’t own any. The problem I’m having is that the Freyja appears to activate the haptics ONLY when using specific audio devices as output, and NEVER when using Spatial Audio.

As an example, when using a wired/wireless headset as the audio output device, the Freyja works just perfectly. The audio and haptics are in sync, and they work great. But if I want to listen to music with any Spatial Sound effect active (e.g. DTS:X or Dolby Atmos), the haptics simply don’t work, or if they’re working before activating it, they stop. Restarting Synapse, unplugging the Freyja does not fix this. If I disable the audio enhancements and then restart Synapse, I get the haptics back on the Freyja.

The worst problem, however, is that I can’t get the Freyja to work when playing audio through my main speakers. Amusingly, they’re the Razer Leviathan V2 Pro. The Sensa Haptics tab does show the audio analyzer reacting to the audio, so the app is detecting the music playing, but for some reason it’s not sending anything to the Freyja.

I haven’t seen any firmware updates available yet. Is there any info about this issue or how to remediate it?

Cheers

The system info: updated Win11Pro, Synapse 4.0.86.manynumbers and Razer Chroma App 4.0.63.manynumbers (obnoxious that one can’t copy the version from the app)

Hi Pussy520. The forum didn’t notify me of your comment, but I came in to write an update and saw your post.
To answer your question, based on my experience I can say that the Freyja can now react to audio that is played through my speakers. As to your issue, have you tried to disable the audio enhancements on Windows Settings? That was affecting my experience even when playing audio over my headphones, and after disabling them, the Freyja worked without a problem.

And my update: Razer pushed an update for Synapse recently, and I can now indeed listen to audio that is played through my Razer Leviathan V2 Pro when before for some reason it couldn’t.

I like playing games or listening to music with Leviathan V2 speakers. I was very excited when I learned about the release of this vibration feedback product, which means that when I play electronic music, the FREYJA will vibrate, which makes me even more excited. But unfortunately, no matter how I try to set it up in Razer Synapse 4 when I play music, FREYJA does not react. I searched for relevant content on the Internet, but because it was released not long ago, there are very few real-life reviews. They feel the vibration with headphones. And I happen to have no headphones. So I have a question: can the FREYJA only vibrate with headphones instead of through speakers? If so, the feedback it advertises directly by the sound source is probably just a joke. Because as long as the sound source is captured through the computer, whether the final playback medium is headphones or speakers, it should not affect FREYJA's vibration feedback. So I don't understand what's going on.
