Last Synapse 3 Update Killed Chroma HDK

Userlevel 2
The most recent Synapse 3 Update killed the "advanced effects" on my Chroma HDK.

The RGB strips no longer lights up in any of my profiles, although it still shows to be lit under Studio.
However the Quick Effects setting still works.

Anybody having the same issue?

Yep, same, It's dead. Tried reinstalling, unplugging USB to the HDK, restarting PC, different effects like static, wave.. Nothing Advanced works like you said. The Quick Effects do still work though.

Visualizer still works for me.

Hi @Ringowu1234 , @ARMOR_152 , @xCryptik

I asked the QA team to check this, but their first report is that it works OK on our side (but they did a fresh install with an HDK). They'll continue testing more use-cases, but in the meantime if you could PM me the log file generated by this tool, it would be helpful for investigation.

Also, as a workaround, can you try creating a new Chroma effect in Studio and see if the HDK strips still don't light up?

Cheers!

Yes I've tried creating new effect, still not working.

After using my PC more today, it appears that one of my seven lighting profiles still work.. Not sure if this information helps.

Log file sent.

Thanks, log received. Can you also PM me the name of the effect that is still working?

Any update on this?
The advance lighting function is basically useless now 😕

There is a fix in development. The issue is primarily with "vertical" strips. Might be a few more days before it can be rolled out.

There is an easy workaround meanwhile. If you move your vertical light strips a little bit further away from other devices (in Chroma Studio), you should be able to apply lighting settings to them again.

A (worse) workaround is to flip all the strips to horizontal, but that would defeat the purpose of Chroma Studio and I don't really recommend it.

Nice! Thanks guys, I appreciate it, there's so many variations of everything it's hard to get them all.

Glad you guys found the cause! Thanks for the good work!!
