[BUG REPORT] Newly Purchased BlackWidow V4 Low Profile (ISO / AZERTY) – Right Shift LED not mapped in Chroma Studio

Hardware: Razer BlackWidow V4 Low Profile (French / AZERTY / ISO layout) — Recently purchased

Software: Razer Synapse (Chroma Studio Module)

1. Problem Description

I recently bought a brand new Razer BlackWidow V4 Low Profile (AZERTY / ISO). Inside Chroma Studio, the Right Shift key LED stays completely dark when applying any color or profile (Static, Breathing, Wave, or imported custom profiles).

Furthermore, when testing physical key feedback in Chroma Studio:

  • Pressing physical keys on the keyboard highlights them on the screen canvas in real-time.
  • Pressing the physical Right Shift key produces NO highlight at all on the Chroma Studio canvas, showing that the software fails to map the physical input to the virtual LED coordinate.

2. Technical Proof of Hardware Integrity (NOT a hardware failure)

This is 100% a software layout/mapping bug inside Chroma Studio:

  1. Keyboard Boot-up: The Right Shift LED lights up normally during hardware boot-up before Synapse loads.
  2. Chroma Visualizer Module: The Right Shift LED works perfectly and syncs RGB when using the Chroma Visualizer (audio reactive mode).
  3. Third-Party Software: In Artemis RGB, the Right Shift LED is fully addressable and works as intended.

3. Root Cause Analysis

The bug is isolated specifically to the Chroma Studio matrix mapping for the French (AZERTY / ISO) Low Profile variant:

  • Low Profile PCB matrices differ from standard high-profile models.
  • The software canvas fails to register the physical Right Shift HID code for this specific ISO Low Profile layout.

4. Expected Action

As this is a newly purchased product, please forward this layout bug to the Synapse software team so the layout map for the BlackWidow V4 Low Profile (ISO / French) can be patched in an upcoming Synapse update.
